"Violets Are Blue, Roses Are Red, Daisies Are Yellow, The Flowers Are Dead..."

"...Wish I can give you this feeling that I feel like buying

And if my dealer don’t have no more, then I feel like dying."

Alright, no more teasers. Alot of people have been asking to see the final design and here it is: "Vandalized Wayne".
The tee is purple (like the pic) but a liiiiittle brighter. It will be ready for the concert (June 27th) in Layayette, La. and you know the dope. dealer and dope. pusher will be out there reppin'.
Continue to check back for sizes and availability upon release.

"The Strangers"...will steal your money.

Went to see this last night and let's just say it was exactly as I thought it would be....and I don't even like thrillers. What do I mean by this, you say? Well, based upon the trailer and whatever you may have read about the movie, what would you say it's about? A couple leaves a wedding reception, goes home, there are 3 weirdo killers who come, one has a sack (or underwear) on his head, they're scared, blah blah blah. Welllll, that pretty much sums up the movie. Really. You're not missing any details except the end (which I'm sure you can guess) because there are none. I guess because the movie is based upon true events, the bare bones tactic was expected to work, but it only leaves you wondering where the rest is.
So, if you're going to go see The Strangers,
be sure to go with someone awesome like I did; that's your only hope for enjoyment. It gets a D-.

ALBUM REVIEW: The Cool Kids - The Bake Sale

The Bake Sale is the first EP from the duo known as The Cool Kids. (To those of you who haven't heard of them, they're the guys in the Rhapsody commercial). Previously, they'd released an LP entitled "Totally Flossed Out" which included their first single, "Black Mags" and was a nice change from the norm in hip-hop right now. No incessant rhymes about sex, drugs and money. Only sneakers, clothes and...sneakers and clothes. Almost like a "hypebeast to an 80s-esque beat". Now, I don't mean that negatively, it's just the best description I can come up with. The only disappointment I have with "The Bake Sale" is the lack of new material. The only songs that are not from "Totally Flossed Out" are:

What Up Man

Bassment Party

Jingling

But I guess that's what is to be expected when an artist releases an EP and an LP. Overall, I'd give it a B-.

From the Pusher's Backpack

So, lately I’ve been reading a book titled Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. The book describes the Hip-Hop movement. Not only does it include the musical aspect, but also the culture characteristics as well. From the sneakers on your feet to the clothes you wear to the way you speak and so on. Well, reading this book led me to some thoughts of my own. Led me to think of a movement developing right before me. Something I’d like to call “The Louisiana Movement”.

This movement I speak of is in relation to the streetwear culture. Now Louisiana doesn’t have this huge streetwear scene on the level of other states, but we are definitely on our way. It starts at home with a few folks I know. In this past year, I have had the privilege to be surrounded by some of the most talented and creative individuals that help mold this monster. This monster of a culture that I am completely wrapped up in. The ones closest are Pimp C (also known as the dope.dealer), Antwoine “Tweez” Washington (even though he’s from somewhere else, he lives in Louisiana), Ceaux Young (Producer, Tattoo Artist, Clothing Designer), Cody (the Asian persuasion), Marc (He paints on walls, hats, sneakers, ANYTHING!!). Each of them play a major role in this Movement I speak of.

Marcfresh / Ceaux Young

Antwoine /Cody

All of five of them are owners of streetwear brands or other interests that involve artwork. dope. Mocha-Soul. Whatchumeen. BSBCBU. Marcfresh. Legit streetwear brands that exhibit artwork that came straight from the soul. Not intervened by money. Not authorized by a powerful overseer. Not boxed in by rules and regulations. They only have to answer to themselves. And that’s what it’s truly about. That’s what this streetwear culture is about. Expressing yourself freely. I am truly amazed with the things these kids come up with. If you don’t believe me check them out for yourselves; click the names. You will see what I speak of. For the scene isn’t just on the East and West Coast. It’s here in the South as well. You might as well become a believer. Now, there are plenty of others in Louisiana that are apart of this Movement. I just wanted to share my thoughts on a few favorites.

I was once told I’m just the pusher. Nothing more than a mere spectator like the rest of you. And I’m fine with that. I’m happy to just be able to come along for the ride. I’m happy to watch it unfold right in front of my own eyes. Just to be able to say, hey I was here and I experienced it. Even if all I did was push the product.

I do not agree.

ALBUM REVIEW: Usher - Here I Stand

It's been 4 years since Usher's last album. Well, now he's back with his brand new album titled Here I Stand. I managed to get my hands on it early and I have to say it's....better than I expected. No, it's definitely not Confessions, but it's not terrible!!! It's a DECENT album. Some of the common themes I noticed were Temptation, Relationship Issues, and of course Sex.
I'd give it a B- to a C+.

There were a few tracks that stood out to me:
  • Trading Places
  • Moving Mountains
  • What's Your Name
  • Something Special
  • Best Thing
  • Love In This Club Part II
